Structure And Refractory Selection Of C-Glass Marble Furnaces

C-glass marbles belong to soda-lime-silica glass. They are the main materials for making c-glass fiber and superfine fiberglass wool. The furnace for C-glass marble production mainly adopts horse flame furnace.
Structure And Refractory Selection Of C-Glass Marble Furnaces

C-glass has higher melting temperature(1530±10℃) than float glass. Bubbling and electric boosting technology is used to increase the melting rate and homogenization of the glass. Therefore, the refractory materials are subjected to more demanding environment and severer corrosion.

The sidewall of C-glass furnace is usually built with fused cast AZS 33# QX. The throat adopts AZS 41# WS. In the high temperature zone, AZS 33# block is used. The bridge brick of the doghouse and the spout brick adopt AZS 33# too.

Fused cast AZS block is also used in the bottom. Beneath the fused AZS bottom block is AZS ramming mass. Then low porosity fireclay brick and kaolin brick are used for the insulation.

The refractory selection of the regenerator is the same to that of the soda lime glass furnace. The lower part is high dense fireclay brick, the middle part is magnesia brick or magnesia alumina brick and the upper part is magnesia brick.

The crown adopts silica brick. Silica brick is also used in the breast wall. Silica insulation brick and high alumina brick are used in the outer layer of the silica brick for insulation. Besides the crown, the sidewall, the bottom, breast wall, and regenerator are insulated too.
